Tom from Troon, Ayrshire joined Rangers in 2007. He made his top team debut for Rangers on 8 December 2012, aged only 16, in a Scottish Third Division match against Stirling Albion. After finding opportunities in the first team difficult to come by, Walsh joined Scottish League One side Stenhousemuir on loan for the first half of the 201415 season. Tom joined Dumbarton on loan in January 2016.

Tom signed for St. Mirren on loan for the first half of the 2016/17 season and finished it with Irish side Limerick, before signing for the Sons on a permanent basis in June 2017.
